This is my cd cover. I took a picture of jake flexing his huge muscles and then I edited it using a tutorial called "Create a Rocking Silhouette". I had to use lots of layers and it was fun to play with which colors I wanted to use.

Artist Statement
1) What have you learned this quarter about yourself in regards to taking pictures or about digital photography/photoshop in general? Over this quarter, I learned so much about photoshop. I had so much fun playing around with the tools and learning how to make pictures look a lot better. It's so interesting that a simple picture can change into something total different using photoshop. You change the color, add shadows, create depth, remove imperfections in a photo, and so many other things. I didn't think that I would be able to pick up on photoshop or that it would be so simple to make photos look better.
3) What are your goals in the future in regards to photography? In the future, I hope that I don't forget anything about photoshop. I learned a lot of new techniques and I like how doing something really simple on photoshop can make a picture look so much better. I also hope that I can make my pictures appealing and in focus, even if they are just vacation photos or something like that. I will definitely continue taking photos and I look forward to editing them more in photoshop.
4) After viewing many different images, is there a particular style, technique, artist, subject matter, etc. that you are drawn to or are inspired by? Out of all the projects we did, my favorite was to take macro pictures. I really love how the camera focuses on one thing in particular. It creates a focal point and I thought that almost everyone's macro pictures were strong. I always wondered how artists did that and thought it looked really cool. Now I am happy that I know how so I will definitely take more macro pictures.

Final Pictures
In this series of photos, I had the idea to do a childish theme. I decided the easiest way to do that would be with crayons and little kids scissors, that sort of thing. Using photoshop, I edited all of the pictures to make the colors stand out more and to make them brighter. I think that the last pictures is the most successful and the first one is the least successful.
